In connection with the Trenthani Rifle Association meeting, beginning | on the 28th February, each of the fifty, competitors in the' final stage of the championship will receive a prize of £2 if not placed in the championship. The programme is the best yet presented by the Association, and a large gathering of marksmen is assured. * The recent innovation at Bisley of a 5-inch bull's-eye not proving a success, it has been abandoned, and the Bisley target of 1905 has fte'en adopted. All matches will be fired under a time limit, and the same conditions as the volunteer matches of last year. In order that a time-table may be prepared, entries are to close on 14tb' February. The first day will be set apart for Volunteer matches, the following day for teams matches other than the champion teams match, and : Saturday will be devoted to service^ matches. The championship serieS^ will commence on Monday,-and'occupy '■ most of the following week. : The holding of an intercolonial

match, a? proposed by Colonel Oolhns, was deterred till next year, as it is torobabJe that the Mather Country and Cunaila will be siding teams out to Australia, and a visit to New Zealand May be arranged.
