PROPOSED SUSPENSION.

THE GOVERNMENT'S ATTITUDE

A PITIABLE DISPLAY.

(Received July 12, 10.24 a.m.) SYDNEY, July 12. The Premier intends to move that Mr Crick be suspended until the charges shall have been decided by the Courts.

The Sydney Morning Herald says that the Assembly seemed to be paralysed at the very thought of dealing with Mr Crick through the report of its own Commissioners. Neither the speaker, nor the Government, nor the Assembly seemed capable of rising to the occasion. The Government hedged and quibbled, and sought to make it clear that the proper way would be to give- the law-courts precedence, while in effect holding Mr Crick by the collar. Nothing more hollow or pitiable could be imagined.
