PERSONAL ITEMS.

The Shipmasters' Association of Wellington has instructed the secretary, Mr J. W. Williams, to meet on his arrival Mr F. T. Bullen, the wellknown novelist, who is about to make a lecturing tour of the colony. In recognition of his services to sea-farmg people, Mr Bullen will be accorded the hospitality of the association. Mrs Barrak, the teacher of the Blind River School, has resigned her position, having accepted a teachership in the North Island. His Honour Mr Justice Denniston left Blenheim for Nelson last evening.

Mr F. E. Hardy, secretary to the New Zealand Axemen's Association, has consented to act as handicapper to the newly-formed Pelorus Axemen's Association.
