♦ MAORI CONTINGENT. [ONITBD PRBBB ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, April 12. A selection was made to-day of mounted militia who are to accompany the Premier to England. Fifteen of twenty Maoris who are to go Home have been selected. Included, m the five remaining natives to be chosen will be two chiefs of the Arawa tribe. The contingent will leave m about a fortnight hence. It has been decided that; the team of shooting men shall be chosen from the whole colony, and not as originally suggested from separate districts. Bairstow, of Carterton, has been selected to represent the Wairarapa volunteers m the Bisley team. Mr Bairstow shot well throughout the recent meeting at Auckland and finished twelfth for the belt. The rifle team which is to represent New Zealand at the Bisley meeting consist of ten men picked from the whole colony, The selection will probably be made by Majors Sommerville and Collins, Lieut.
