It will ba Been from the above that Mkbbie Kino has got good blood on both sides, going back to Black Boy and Rata, the winner of (wo Marlborough Cups. Refrigerator, another Cup winner, is from the Bame family. M eerie Kino, mated with good mares, should get horses fit for the racecourse or hunting field. The following is an extract from the Mablbobovoh Express report of the proceedings at the Marlborough Agricultural and Pastoral Association Show of 1892 : — In the horse class Mr Stevons' judging was received favorably, and the pains he took m thoroughly examining the horses presented to him showed he intended to be cartful as well as impartial ; and as a great deal of interest was shown m the thoroughbred judging it may be sb well to give Mr Stevens' opinion of Mebrik Kino, the horse which won the championship against Oatesby. This horae, — which by the way was bred by Mr 0. Redwood, and is by King Cole,— Mr Stevens thinks, when full grown, will be hard to beat on any ground m the colony, and he showß now that he is the ptoper stamp from which to breed racehorses. Merrie King also won First Prize at the Marlborough Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Shows, 1693 and 1894, and First and Champion at the Nelson A. and P. Show, 1894.
