[UNITED PBEBE ABBOOIATION.I Greyjiouth, August 8. The Thurso lies m the same position. Three hawsers W6re broken to-day m trying to shift her. She lies nearly alongside the north breakwater, and apparently is stuck fast among the stones. Sho has been made fast to keep her from going into the fairway. Her main hold is full of water, and it is supposed she has got holes m her bottom through bumping on the stones, but her forward compartment is dry. The tug will make another attempt to pull her up the river out of the road, the water on that side of the river being deep. CußiSTonuacH, August 8. The Thurso belonged to and was insured m the New Zealand office for £2,500, of which £1,000 is reinsured m the Alliance office, and £250 m another office. The cargo of timber, belonging to Messrs Scott and Co., is insured m the Oanton office for £1,400. The Thurso was previously known as the Lucina, and was built at Sunderland m 1864. Captain Willis, the representative of the Canterbury Underwriters Association, will leave for Greymouth I tewttonw.
