The Trades Conciliation Bill has passed through Parliament, but the Early Closing Bill was rejected by the Legislative Council by 25 to 7. A great fall m the price of silver stocks has taken place, and some consternation is occasioned at Broken i[ill at the fact, as the appearance of the mines do not warrant the fall. The following are the latest quotations ; —Proprietary £5 6s, Block No. 14 £4, Block No. 10 £5 6s, Centrals £1 10s. The fall with regard to the latter is largely due to the collapses m the underground working.
