CONFEEENCE OF BISHOPS. [united pbess association.] Sydney, March 21. The Australian Bishops are sitting to elect a Primat9, but a difficulty has arisen from the faot that only one name has been submitted, that of Canon Saumerez Smith, while the Ordnance requires that three names be sent in. It has been suggested that sdvice should be procured from England as to what steps to take in the matter. . „ . Later. A Conference of Bishops resolved that it would best serve the interest of the Church by concurring in the election of Canon Saumerez Smith to the Primacy of Australia. The Committee endorsed the resolution. _^^^^^^^^
