FOUND DEAD !
HE DIED ALONE-
By Special Wire,
Oama.ru, September 1. About noon yesterday, the body of Alfred Victor Johns, formerly a bailiff in the Jlesident Magistrate's Court, was found in a small house in Thamesstreet. The deceased had been for some time residing with a Mrs Dale, but had left about a week ago. For some days he had not been seen about town, and a Mr White, a friend of the deceased, going to the house yesterday morning, his suspicions were aroused by finding the door locked, and the key inside. The assistance of Constable Christie was obtained, and an entrance effected into the house ; there the deceased was found lying in bed, undressed and quite dead. Dr Giland, at the request of Sergeant Beatty, viewed the body, and states that the deceased had been dead for three or four days. The cause of death, is, so far, a mystery, but a post mortem examination is being held, and this may bring the cause to light.
