Marlborough Acclimatization Society. “VjOTICE is hereby given that Cock PheaiM sants and Californian Quails may be killed in that portion of the provincial District of Marlborough known as the “ The Picton Electoral District,” from the Ist day of May until the 30th day of June, both days inclusive, by any “ person duly authorised.” “ Person duly authorised” shall mean and include the holder of a license under the “Protection of Animals Act, 1873,” and the bona fide, occupier of any lands (not being waste lands of the Crown) who may kill such birds upon such lands. No person shall sell “game” as defined by the before-mentioned Act, except he holds a license in that behalf. “ Trespassers in pursuit of game” (that is person with gun or dog and gun, being upon any lands without permission from the occupier or owner thereof), are liable to a penalty of £2O. No person will be protected against the last-mentioned penalty by reason of holding a license. The maximum penalty for killing game without a license is £2O, and the inevitable penalty for selling the same without license and for such sale is £2O. Licenses may bo obtained from— H. P.
