ENTERTAINMENTS.

BOWLING CLUB'S SOCIAL. The members and lady friends of the Hokomn Bowling Club hold a progressiva ouchro match and weia! in Bneo's tea rooms last evening. There were about 40 people, present. Alter an enjoyable game the ladies' prize (a flower bowl) was won by Hiss Josephine Alexander and the gentlemen's (hair brushes) by Mr Geo. Bishop. Tlw "iKioby" prizes went to Miss Corkhill and Mr J. Spittle. The president (Mr I'. S. Cullon) presented tin* prizes and .spoke appreciatively qf the large, attendance. Supper was partaken ol' before the company dispersed.

ROYAL STANDARD PICTURES. The second screening of the Royal Standard Picture Proprietary's current programme drew another appreciative audience to tile. Theatre Royal last evening.- The star picture in an excellent programme, 1 tin* Indian drama "Gei'onimo's Last, Raid," was followed with close interest, and was supported by other interesting films, notably "Broken Oath" (drama), "Three Girls and a Man'' (comedy) and "A Surprise Packet." The programme!, which is well worth viewing, will be screened again to-night for the last time.

CORE LEAGUE OF SERVICE. There was a splendid attendance at last night's meeting of tho League of Service. The chairman (Mr J. Ilargest) stated that in future better arrangements would be made for the seating of visitors. Tim speaker for tho evening (Rev. M. A. Rugby Pratt) gave an interesting address on the word "Watch," which was greatly appreciated by those present. The following contributed to the programme:—Solos, Miss Hunter, Mrs Eecorsall and Mr Farley: recitations, Misses Dolly and Grace Hartly and Master Jack Hartly; pianoforte solos, Miss Savage. A dialogue, entitled "Tho Troubles of a. Bachelor," was excellently performed by Misses V. Craig, S. MeKinna, L. Hughes, H. Oullinger and W. Slceman, Messrs J. Smith, ft. Potts, L. Bull and E. Oullinger.
