GERMANY'S IDLE RICH.

COMMENT ON A TRIAL. BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.—COPYRIGHT. PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. Received October 14, 8.5 a.m. BERLIN, Oct. 13. The trial of Count Giesbert WolffMetternich was for various acts of fraud of the ordinary type. His paternal allowance was 30s monthly, and he lived in magnificence and squandered money profusely. The trial causes the press to deplore the low morals of the idle rich. The prisoner threatens to "deal with" the Crown Prosecutor when he is released. Count Wolff-Metternich was sentenced to nine months' imprisonment for cheating at cards, whereof six months will be considered as served owing to the length of the proceedings.
