Macarthur's sire, Mcßride (2987); g-sire, Macgregor (1487); g-g-sire, Darnley (222). Macarthur's dam, Maggie Bell, winner of 37 first- and champion prizes, by Tasman, by Victor; Macarthur's dam, Maggie 111., by L'ride of Scotland; g-g-dam, Maggie, by Cochrane's Clyde (imp.); g-g-g-dam, Jane, by Dick's Black Champion. Tasman, the sire of Macarthui's dam, was got by Victor (imp.); dam, Countess, by Count Bismarck (imp.). Tasman was champion of Victoria for many years. Maearthur was exhibited 35 times and gained 32 Firsts, 2 Seconds and 1 Third, all as four-year-old and under — « record unbeaten by any horse in the colonies. GENERAL WHITE has been exhibited nine times and won six First and two Champion and three Second Prizes, and has only been beaten by such champions as Dalmuir Prince, Sandy Erskine and Clydebank (all imported). The following aro his performances—lst as a ' two-year-old at Oamaru in 1900; 2nd as a three-year-old at Dunedin in 1901; Ist as a three-year-old at Timaru; Ist as a three-year-old at Waimate; Ist as a three-year-old at Oamaru; 2nd at Oamaru on same day as best stallion in the yard; 2nd as a four-year-old at Waimate in 1902; first and champion at Gore in 1903; first and champion at Gore, 1904. GENERAL WHITE'S stock topped the market at Oamaru and in other dis-, tricts this year, and a big price was paid for a two-year-old colt by Messrs Watson and Meehan, of Victoria.
