WORSE THAN DREADNOUGHTS.
At the Sydney School of Arts last week Mr Iteid. ill the course ok un address. ns president of tlie Sydney I'niversity Society, pictured a German threat to Great. Britain more dangerous than Dreadnoughts. "We talk with some apprehension about those German Dreadnoughts." he said, "and they are formidable enough, hut there is a far more terrible |>owor arrayed against the .Motherland. There is llu< fact that the genius and ability and strength of the German race has been inspired and developed by the highest tortus of scientific and practical instruction. You may smash her Dreadnoughts and maintain the supremacy of Great Uritain on the seas, but unlets Great liritain copies more fully and more thoroughly tln» magnificent example of national education which Germany has tdiown during the past 30 years, there will he far more awkward Dreadnoughts to m.>ot—Dreadnoughts which no battleship can crush."
