TOM MANN AND HEROICS. .Received Mav 24, 10.13 a.m. Sydney. May 24. The strike at Broken Hill has been declared off and the pickets have beeu withdrawn. The men will return to work this morning. The combined unions gave Tom Mann a week's notice of the termination ot his engagement as organiser. Mann, at a , meeting, commenced dramatically by saying that after the triumphant eutry into Jerusalem there came the crucifixion. A fortnight back he entered Broken Hill carried shoulder high now they wanted to crucify him. But he would not be driven out of Australia ; he would not be kicked about or insulted.
