SOCIAL AND WEDDING AT WAIPAHI.

The marriage of Mr James Cameron ((of Clinton) and Miss Rose Collins (of Waipahi) was solemnised in the Waipahi Presbyterian Church on Wednesday. Mr Bilson, of Clinton, acted as best man. Miss Collins was attended by her sister (Miss Kinily Collins) and her nicco (Miss Beryl Mitchell) as bridesmaids. The Rev. W. F. Oraigie was called back to his parish to tie tho nuptial knot. The Church was well filled by friends to see the ceremony. The wedding breakfast (at which 40 wore present), was laid in the hall, where Mr and Mrs Collins had arranged a dainty spread. The Rev. W. F. Craigie presided, and the usual toasts were honored. In the evening tho hall contained a larger gathering, when an evening's dancing completed the celebration of the event.

There was a good gathering of tho congregation in tho Waipahi Presbyterian Church on Monday evening to bid farewell to Miss Rose Collins, who has been organist for threo years, and resigned the position on the eve of her marriage and departure from the district. Mr William Taylor, who presided, spoke in praise of Miss Collins' services to tho Church, Sunday school and Christian Endeavor Society as organist and choirmi stress, and after expressing regret at losing her valuable 'services, tendered the best wishes of the congregation for . her future welfare. After the members of the Church Committee had given their meed of praise and appreciation, songs were' given by Mrs \Y. White and Mr Alex. Hardie (divinity student in tho parish during the vacancy). Thou baskets were got out, and cakes and tea were done ample justice to, opportunity being taken to introduce Mr Hardie to those present. Tho programme was again proceeded with, a song by iliss Melrose and another by Air Hardie. The chairman then called on Mr E. n. Burn to fulfil the main object of the meeting. In presenting Miss Collins with a purse bearing an inscription expressing tho good wishes of. the congregation and containing ten sovereigns,Mi- Burn wished to thank lier for all her services to the district, both in and out of the Church. Miss Collins replied dn a capital jocular vein, amidst applause. A song from Mr Burn concluded the prooramine. After the usual votes ot thanks to the ladies and singers and to the Chairman (proposed by Mr Hardie) the meeting closed with the singing of hymn 494, and the pronouncing of the Benediction.
