When the N.S.W. State Assembly met on Thursday afternoon the Strangers' Gallery was packed with unemployed, and as soon as the proceedings opened one of them rose anil asked what steps were to be taken to
help the unemployed. la the middle of his speech, and while attacking Mr Carruthers, a policeman interfered and removed him. The gallery was
then cleared midst a babel of cries about starving wives and children, and demands for work. The parting shot was : "We want work, not palaver from members." M. Dcleasse, interviewed, declared that it was useless to think of lighting Britain at sea : it would be better to utilise liritish power to render it impossible for Germany to declare war against France. It was a great mistake for France to agree to the Moroccan conference.
