R. S. Macdonell and Co. report on above as follows :— . Gore Sale— For the usual fortnightly sale at the Corporation yards, be d on Tuesday, Oth inst., about 5000 sheep cause forward. Of this number the greater part consisted of crossbred hoggets, the balance being made up of fat and store crossbred wethers, and a few pen 9 of crossbred ewes, The demand for hoggets waß not so keen as tbat experienced a fortnight ago, and consequently although prices for prime sorts were much on a par, Bmall and inferior were neglected, and a large number were turned out unsold. Good crossbred wethers were in request, and pr aot i eally all tbe entry changed ban-is, although prices were somewhat in buyers' favor. For the few pens crossbred ewes with lambs at foot there was a keen -temand, and a much larger number could easily have been placed. We jarded 1386, and sold as foUows: —100 halfbred hoggets 6s lid, IC'O full-mouth merino ewea 2. 3d, 95 crossbred hoguets Bs7d, 143 do lis 2d, 107 do Up, 75 do 10a llil, 151 halfbred wetbers 5< 6d, 119 fat sheep 12s, 200 store wethers, 11h, 77 crossbred ewes with lambs at foot 13s 6d, 30 do 10s 6d ; and privately during the wees: 594 mixed crossbred sheep at current rates. Cattle— About 70 head were penned, principally in small lofce, Although of a very mixed description, a fair enquiry waa experienced, and the bulk chantred bands at current rates. We yarded 27 bead. Privately we have plaoed within the last few days 70 head mixed cattle at satisfactory prices, Matanra Bdle— This took place on Thursday, llth inst., wheu about 700 crossbred sheep were yarded. A poor demand was experienced, and fully half the, entry remained in original hands. Crossbred hoggets sold from 8s 41 to lis, aud wetbers to lis 2d.
