Several new members were duly proposed and elected The report was read as follows : “ The fourth annual report for the year ending 21st September, 1883, presented to members of ih; Club. -The roll of members at present stands at GO active and honorary members, and 6 life members ; total Go, as against 65 last year. Of the above 30 have paid, 15 decline to pay. and there are 15 subscriptions oulstanding considered good. It is the wish of the retiring committee that their successors will make an example of some of those members who decline to pay, as several of them who have used the boats, on being asked to pay, either declined, or said they were not membors “The balance-sheet shows that the Club’s income from subscriptions is £3l lOs lOd, and the expenditure £34 10s fid. The estimated value of the assets, after deducting 10 per cent per annum lor depreciation is £’254 13a 4d, against which there are liabilities outstanding to tho amount of £GS 15s 6d

‘-‘-During the season the Club was represented at Wanganui and Wellington regattas, but regret that they can record no wins at any of these contests “ During the past season the Club has suifered a great loss through the removal of the captaiu, Mr A P Green, and the secretary, Mr O Aloller, from the district, and the thanks of the Club are due to them for the interest they took in its welfars while they were here.”

The balance-sheet of the Club for the season ending the 19th September, 1388, and the statement of assets and liabilities, were also read.

On the motion of Mr Farmar, seconded by Mr Buckman, the report and balancesheet, as amended, were adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows •- President, Mr IT Dodson, MHR ; Vice-Presidents, Messrs .1 G Elides and W Litchfield . Captain, Mr J Batcher; Deputy-Captain, W VV D Castro; Secretary,. Mr A Farmar Treasurer, Mr W II Buckman ; committee, Messrs II H Hudson, F Halo, F Dodson and 11. Pond ; Auditors, Messrs A J Fisher and L Allen,

It.was decided that the opening day of the season should be fixed for the second Saturday in October.

11 was also resolved that the names of those members who had neglected or declined to pay their snb-c.riptions before a certain date should bo posted up in the Club’s sheds, A conversational discussion was tfion held regarding the Club’s affairs in general, and the financial position in particular, and those present thought the Club bad the prospects of a‘ very successful season before them, aad agreed that a better, set of officers could not have been elected to fill the various offices. A vote of .thanks to the Chairman terminated the proceedings..
