He estimated an increase in the revenue, notwithstanding a deficit in the estimated railway revenue of £59,000 consequent on the defeat of the Land Bill. The estimated revenue is set down at L 9,158,000 and the proposed expenditure, inclusive of £150,000 for State House and a small deficit from the year 1887, is estimated at L 6,588,000, leaving a surplus for the financial year of L 587.000. The expenditure includes LG 1,000 interest payable on the new loan. The surplus will be reduced, however, by a refund to tho squatters of LI GO, 000 for rents paid in excess. Perth, July 17.
