Interesting Breach of Promise Case.

A case of breach of promise, in which LSOO damages were claimed, was heard at the Supreme Court to-day, Sarah Ferguson, of Naseby, a spinster, suing John Dawson of the same place, a baker and grocer. The parties hud been engaged for about four years. Dawson then began to pay attention to a Miss Donaldson, with whom he stated lie had become entangled, and for the plaintiff it was contended that lie induced her to write and release him from his engagement to her, so as to be able to show Miss Donaldson and enable him to free himself from her and marry Miss Ferguson. For the defence it was stated that the engagement was broken olf voluntarily by plaintiff. At the conclusion of the evidence tho jury said they considered plaintiff had not proven her case, but at the request of the Judge they listened to Sir Robert Stout for plaint'ff, and then they found for defendant.
