The match between the Australian Eleven and the M.C.C. and Ground, commenced at Lords today. Tho Australians went first to the wickets, and at the luricheon adjournment had lost three wickets for 75.
The European Situation is more hopeful and Continental bourses are buoyant. St Petersburg, June 21.
The Czar has declined to sanction a proposal of the War Department to double the strength of the War battalions, declaring that the situation does not justify a course which would overburden the country’s finances.
