The two artillery instructors who recently arrived from Home have been sent to Otago and Lyttelton respectively to instruct’the detachment of the permanent force at those places. The action of the Licensing Committee of Petone to grant licenses to the lessees of two local houses at the last annual meeting will shoitly he traversed in the Supreme Court. In Banco Court to-day, on-the motion of Mr Chapman, representing the Law Society, Mr C. P. Skipper; the wellknown Wairarapa solicitor, was fined £2O for disobeying an order of the Court, calling upon him to pay fees due to the Society amounting to £SO.
