It is stated tliat the copper syndicate is being reformed with a limited capital. The resolutions dealing with the defence of the harbors and coaliDg stations have been carried. Particulars of the outbreak in Zululand state that Denizulu did not attack Usibepu but assaulted the police, who were arresting cattle-raiders. Baron de Worms, in reply to a question in the House of Commons said, the Basutas were sending a force, and a British reinforcement had been despatched to to punish Denizulu. The Pan Anglican Synod will hold its first sitting on June 3, One hundred forty-four bishops from all parts of the British Empire will be present. John Bright is now quite out of danger. Mr Stead, editor of the Pall Mall Gazette, has had a private interview with the Czar, during which they discussed the European situation. The result of their conversation is not yet disclosed. ■ Mr T. Sexton, M.P., will open the Exhibition of Arts and Manufactures at Dublin. General Sheridan is in a most precarious condition, and his death is hourly expected. The majority of the Unionist Liberals will support the licensing clauses of tho Local Government, and also many of the Irish members and Home Eulers. Edinburgh, June 6.
