He urged that the practice existing between France and England in regard to wine duties was most favorable to England, but added that if the proposed tax on bottled wine were insisted upon by the English Government, the practice would be terminated, and a reprisal might bo looked for. The Municipal Council has passed a resolution condemning the attitude and demonstrations of General Boulanger, and has agreed to a vote of confidence in the Eloquet Ministry. The students of the city have discontinued their demonstrations against General Boulanger.
