John Cooney, a prisoner who was sentenced on Saturday for disorderly conduct in gaol, appeared in Court again to-day, the evidence showing that ho behaved after sentence worse than ever. Iho noise he made, coupled with singing and roaring, drew quite a crowd outsido tho goal. Ho was sentenced to ten days on bread and water; and on gaoler’s pleasure tho sentence can be hold in abeyance if prisoner behaves. Christchurch, Lee 22. On December Hi Adam Mott, a shopherd on Mount Pleasant Run was thrown from his horse near Summer, lie lingered in an unconscious state till this morning, when he died. This morning, Charles Bart, a lad working in Chimney’s 1 lax Mill, Rangiora, was caught in the machinery, receiving injuries which caused his death iu a few hours.
