THE LATE EXHIBITION.
TO THE JEDiTOK. Sir, - Can you inform me if it bo true that at the time fixed for the dosing of the poll, for the principal prize at the Exhibition of the Art and Industrial Exhibition, there were two candidates havin' a considerable number of votes of equal amount, and that one candidate had only one vote, and that the close of the poll was postponed for a day when the voters for the candidate of one vote were brought up, Mid returned the candidate of one vote it the head of the poll. It is of the greatest importance that voting should he conducted on principles of fairness, a d it concerns the Committee to give a full explanation of the matter. The. programme put forward for the exhibition gave the greatest dissatisfaction, and from the nninbei of prizes taken by one exhibitor the suspicion is not absent, that the programme was prepared with esneciil fitness in this behalf. It is to he hopid this if so was not backed up by favoritism on the part of the Committee. [ air, &c., Spectator. [We cannot give the information which our correspondent desires Xo doubt die Committee will be glad to furnish it 5SEt>. M. D. T ]
