Salt Hotter —Wo anticipated receiving latest intelligence from Sydney and Melbourne in sufficient time to include in present report, but the steamers from both por s have been delayed ; consequently we a"o not able to furnish the desired information ; locally there is no demand, and we still quote Gd as a nominal value. Fresh samples are in greater request, and ruling at B f l to 9d per lb ; eggs remain scarce at°2s Gd to 2s *Jd per doz ; cheese, overstocked, 4Jjd to 5d ; hams, 8d to 8-Ad ; bacon, 6£d to 7d ; rolls (now cure), 7d ; honey, 4d to 5d per lb Ihe market is quite bare of fruit, and shipments of apples and pears from Hobart, expected to-day, should command hi. her prices than were realised for previous co-sign-ment. Oranges, being so sour, do not realise shippers’ rates : quinces are now quite out of the market. Poultry —Fowls, turkeys and geese are unaltered at 3s, Bs, and 5s per pair ; ducks are wanted at 4s per pair.”
