The Association finds that Mr Hooker left Now Zealand on business connected with his patent in ; a perfectly open manner for Sydney prior to any action whatever being brought by Mr W, J. Hunt against him, and that Ids intended departure was well known in W llington prior to his leaving.' The building which is being erected for the telephone exchange will be completed in a month, and the exchange will lie in operation in about five weeks. Annunciators are now being fitted up, and a shipment of telephonic material will arrive by the lonic about a week hence.

SCHOONER WRECKED. (Per Press Association.) Napier, May 6, The three masted schooner Reward was wrecked at Table Cape, on the north side of Maliia Peninsula. Capt. Andrews, one seaman, and the cook are reported drowned. The mate and the rest of the crew are at Mahia. The constable at Wairoa proceeded to the scene last night. There are no j articular*. The Reward belongs to Nelson.
