No entry wi 1 be received for any race except upon 1 he conditiou that all claims, disputes, and objections arising shall be decided by the Stewards, or whim they may appoint, and their decision upon al points shall be final. Ali protests must be accompanied with a deposit cf 2 sovs,, which sum shall be forfeited to the funds if the protest is not sustained. In all races second horse to save his stakes. All nominations, eitries, acceptances, ect., accompanied by the nreessarv amount in cash, must be addressed to the Secretary, and left at the Club Hole’ Blenheim, not later than 8 p.m. on the advertised date of closing. No eot>y wi'l be received under and pretence after ihe hour named. The Rules of the Marlborough Racing Club will be stric.ly adhered to. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross amount of all stakes. Horses walking ov,r will receive 50 per cent of the stakes. Owners are responsible for all penalties ! and allowances, which must be notified to the Secretary, when possible, on night of geneial intry, or in any case half.an. hour prior to s.art. All persons intending to withdraw burses, are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the Scales one half hour before the official time for starting such race. Any person neglecting or icfusing to comply with this rule shall pjy a fine, to be imposed by the Stewards, not exceeding 20 sovs. to the race fund.
