In the matter of a Bill intituled “ The Wairau Gas Company (Limited) 1886.” NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended to present a petition to the General Assembly of New Zealand, at the preFent Session, praying for leave to introduce a Bill to be intituled “ The Wairau Gas Company (Limited) Act, 1886,” to authorise the said -Company to purchase the Blenheim Gas Works, °nd to open and break up under toe superintendence of the Corporation of the Borough of Blenheim, the soil and pavement of the streets and roads, within the Borough of Blenheim ; to break up bridgesewers, drains or sewers; and to erect pillars and lamps ; and to lay down and place pipes, conduits, service pipes; and to make and to do other works necessary or expedient for continuing to supply and to extend the supply of gas to the Borough of Blenheim, and to make and construct other works for supplying aud extending the supply of gas to the said Borough. It is also intended by the said Bill to take powers to the said Company to contract with the said Corporati nor with any person or persons therein for supplying g:'s, or letting meters to them or any of th> m, and to enter upon buildings to ascertain the qualities c.f g*s c nsuni'd, and sue for the recovery of rents for gas supp iid, and to cut oft' and take away the supply of gas, and to enterupon buildings to ake away gaspipes on non-payment ot such rents, and to impo-e jenalties for the wilful destruction of the Company’s propeity.
