Wedding Bells
PATERSON—VINCENT The marriage was solemnised at All Saints - ’ Anglican Church, Matamata, on Thursday, between Phyllis Mabel, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. VV. C. Vincent, Matamata, and Robert Leslie, eldest son of Mr. Paterson, of Warkworth, and the late Mrs. Paterson. The Rev. G. IF. V/. Oulds performed the ceremony. Mrs. McGill officiated at the organ. The church had been tastefully decorated with white streamers along the pews and a large white bell over the chancery. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a becoming frock of creme phantom crepe, with full sleeves puffed to the elbow, a slim-fitting bodice finished with a slightly cowled neckline, and a skirt which fell in soft folds to form a train. The waistline was emphasised with a half -moon of silver ruching, this making a dainty finish at the shoulders and train also. An embroidered silk tulle veil, caught at the head with a coronet of orange blossoms, fell to the ground forming a second train. She carried a sheaf of arum lilies. Miss D. Vincent (sister of the bride) was bridesmaid. She wore a frock of Marina blue crepe faille, cut on slimming lines, the skirt falling at the back to form a small train. The dress featured unusual sleeves slit from the shoulder to a pointed tight-fitting cuff, but caught in place with a large diamante clasp at the . elbow. A halo hat of blue tulle, covered with toning velvet flowers, sompleted the ensemble. A posy of lemon and blue flowers and maidenhair fern was carried. ,■ Miss Shirley Vincent (niece of the bride) was iiowergirl. Her anklelength frock of Marina blue crepe faille was cut along Victorian lines. It fell from a high yokeline in loose folds and was finished with a wide frill round the hem'. She carried a posy similar to that of the bridesmaids. The best man was Mr. K. Paterson, brother of the bridegroom. At a reception held at the Rialto Tearooms Mrs. Vincent received the guests in a floral uncrushable crepe de chine frock and black coatee. She carried a bouquet of autumn tints. Howard (Te Kowhai), Mr. and Mrs. H. Vincent, Mr. and Mrs. iC. C. Vincent, Mr. K. Vincent (Waitoa), Mr. Roy Vincent, Mr. Ralph Vincent, Mrs. Clist (Te Kuiti), Mrs. K. Mayes (Riwitahi), Miss L. Chick, Mr. N. Runciman, Mrs. Bicknell (Putaruru), Mrs. and Miss P. Stevenson... (Putaruru), Mr. and Mrs. Z. Barnett (Putaruru), Mr. and Mrs. E. Morris (Putaruru), Mr. and Mrs. Martin (Putaruru). After the reception the young copple left for New Plymouth, the bride travelling in a navy and fawn tailored frock of all-wool crepe de chine with hat and accessories to tone. Their future home will be at Woodville. . ..
