INTER-CLUB MATCHES.
Waharoa 11, Rocky Downs 4.
An inter-club match played against Waharoa at Waharoa resulted in a win for Waharoa team by 11 matches 1 to 4, with 4 matches all square. Individual results are as follow, Waharoa players being mentioned first in each instance:—
Men.—Porter lost to Hutchison, Lock and Keeley all square, O’Connor and Mentiplay all square, Banks beat Thomson, Ayers beat Edwards, Anderson beat Bluck, Walker beat Ryan, Blyth beat Cottle, Beaver beat Woodhouse, Kirk beat Ferguson, Barkman beat N. Johnston.
Ladies.—Mrs. Anderson beat Miss O’Hara, Miss McGeahan lost to Miss Johnston, Mrs. Lock beat Miss Robinson, Mrs. Beaver lost to Miss M. Montague, Mrs. Alquist and Mrs. Mentiplay all square, Mrs. Mehrtens and Miss H. Montague all Mrs. Bartleet lost to Mrs. Keeley, Mrs. Halligan beat Mrs. Woodhouse.
Morrinsville 14, Walton 7.
A party of nine men and twelve lady members of the Morrinsville Golf Club visited the Walton links on \ _ Saturday. The men won six out of “ nine games, and the ladies won eight out of twelve. The visitors were hospitably entertained by the Walton *• members, and were very favourably ' impressed with the condition of the course. Results are as follows, Morrinsville names first: —
. Ryan beat M. Johnston, 2 and 1; Ensor lost to James, 2 and 1; Jack- -• son beat Adams, 1 up; Ross beat Dickey, 5 and 4; Davies beat Fisk; Turner lost to Fromm, 2 and 1; Hart lost to Crawford, 5 and 4; Faulkner ~ beat Given, 4 and 3; Maclean beat Gow, 4 and 3. The scores in the ladies’ matches \ were not kept.
ROCKY DOWNS CLUB.
Championship Semi-finals.
The semi-finals of the senior and y junior championships were postponed until next Saturday, when an 18hole bogey match will be played in conjunction, members not playing in championships to arrange their own partners. Medal Match. An 18-hole , medal round played during the week-end resulted in a win for A. Thomson, 89—22, 67, with T. Bluck 101—27, 74, and R. Mentiplay, 96—17, 79, runners-up. Club Chat. l The final of the Glenfarne Cup, between A. Thomson (20) and J. Corbett (9) will be played next Saturday. The club captain will have to be well on his game to defeat Thom- . son, who is playing particularly well at present. It was unfortunate that Rocky Downs could not field their best team against Waharoa. Hutchison, Keeley, Mentiplay and Thomson were the. only members of the original team to play.
WAHAROA CLUB. Draw for Championships. The draw for the semi-finals of the men’s championships is as follows: Juniors. —Casey v. Carroll, Barker v. Montague. Seniors.—Banks v. O’Connor, Lock v. Anderson, Porter v. Ayers. The last-mentioned game has already been played and resulted in a victory for Porter.
