Bowling.
MATAMATA CLUB. The Matamata Bowling- Club’s green should be in tip-top order for play next Saturday, -weather permitting, The club Las done a good deal by way of improvements during the winter recess. The combined openings, bowling and croquet, to which the adult public is cordially invited, should provide a very pleasant afternoon.
TE POI CLUB. A Bowling Club with a membership of forty, and a Croquet Club with an almost equal personnel, have been formed in the district, and will be inaugurated at an early date. The grounds of these clubs adjoin each other, and are on the property of Mr. C. J. Cobham, of Te Poi, from whom the premises have been leased. The number of rinks at present laid out is four, with two croquet lawns; the number will be increased as occasion demands. Mr. F. F. Hockly, M.P., has been invited to inaugurate the opening of the two clubs.
MORRINSVILLE TEAMS. The following teams have been selected to represent Morrinsville in the Goldfields Stars and Clothier Shield tourney to be played at Te Aroha on October 20 and 22: Martin, Strand, Bint, Branch (s); R. Buchan, Sanders, Donald, L. Buchan (s).
