By-election
There will be a by-election on 3 August 1977 for the Mauke constituency. This is the result ofan incident which took place a month ago when the former member for Mauke lost his seat after being convicted by the High Court in the Cook Islands for assaulting a lawyer. The same member, Mr Tepuiariki A. Henry, is standing again in acceptance . of a request by the people of Mauke to stand for them. The DEMO member is not named yet. Mr Henry is a CIP candidate.
