COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKER The Citizens’ Association for Racial Equality (CARE) invites applications for the position of a community health worker in South Auckland. This is a voluntary position, but a “Community Volunteer” allowance to help with living costs will be paid. The person we are looking for should speak English and at least one Polynesian language, and should be able to relate easilyfo Maori and Pacific Island people. Previous medical experience would be an advantage, but is not essential. He or she will be working in association with the Health Nurse at Hillary College, and should preferably live in the vicinity of Otara.
