GLENORCHY NOTES
Tennis. A further match for the “K” buttons was played on Saturday In brilliant sunshine. Af{er three rounds had been played, Mrs Scott and Mr Scott and Mr and Airs Olvcr had won U games each. In the play-off Airs Scott and Mr Stott won. Afternoon tea was served by Airs Vernon and Aliss Naesmith at the Alt. Earnslaw Hotel. In the evening a fancy dress dance was held in the local hall; most of the dancers joined in the fun. The costumes were judged by Airs Anita Oliver of Dunedin, the winners being: Airs R. E. Olvcr as “Cherry Ripe’’ and Air Sams (Christchurch) as “Top Hat, White Tic and Tails.’’ Airs Oliver later entertained the audience with two humorous elocutionary numbers, i'he novelty dances were won bv Airs .1. Wylie and Air Alcßain (Alonte Carlo) and Aliss AI. Tripp and Air Alorgan (Lucky Spot). Alusic for dancing was supplied by Mrs Sutherland, Messrs K. Sutherland, E. Bryant and J, Robinson. Extras were played by Miss Eva Scott and Mr G. Scott. Prizes wore donated by Air R. H. Bryant.
