QUEENSTOWN’S VISITING BAND
On- Friday afternoon, January 4, visitors on the parade at Queenstown’s waterfront wore pleasingly entertained by a visiting brass band comprising members of the Kaikorai Band, Dunedin and two members of the Dunedin Ladies’ Band to add colour to the scene. The players had left Alexandra to enjoy the run per launch to Bobs Cove. Although they had wired to Queenstown advising they were on the way, they reached the city of the Lakes at ten minutes to two and were greatly disappointed flt the launch having departed before the time announced for sailing, namely 2 p.m. In fairness to the launch management it is understood that the boat had a full complement and could not accommodate any additional passengers. Th'e band was under the guidance of Dunedin’s popular baritone singer, Arthur Macdonald, whoso singing is ever a feature of any special function in the Otago capital. Following the band’s playing on Friday, his singing was acclaimed with enthusiasm by those present on the parade.
