CORRESPONDENCE
To the Editor. Si r * 2,500 leper sufferers in the Islands of Makogai in Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Now Caledonia, Now Hebrides and the British South Solomons aro looking to us for some token of remembrance at Christmas time. i’or some there is hope of recovery but for others the outlook is black, and there is no chance of returning homo. It was my privilege to visit these people for eleven days and I saw finite a number who were maimed ami deformed and some of these were women and children.
We feel that we have a responsibility towards these -stricken ones who are our nearest neighbours. In God’s name I once again plead their cause and trust that the customary generosity of your readers will bring brightness to their lives and relief from sorrow.
