THE LURE OF QUEENSTOWN
People would travel far before they teach a more peaceful and tranquil a spot than Queenstown on a summer's day though even in winter it has its beauty. It is a haven in the present chaotic times. The lower hills, so tilled ith ever-chaiging hues, enhance the calm depths of the lake below. Even the houses look cool and calm tucked in and around the terraces with pretty fresh gardens, while the snow on the Rcmarkables . seems to have its own commanding beauty. - , The bay, or the waterfront looks More like a little fishing quay, with its idle little boats tied lazily to their moorings, with happy tourists in holiday attire feeding the trout which for vears, like the ducks, have provided an added interest to the many attractions of Queenstown. Further round towards the Park the willow trees dip happily into the lake and crowds of, suubathers and bathers take advantage 1 of their shade, and listen to the sound ! of the chatter of children, and the screech of Mother Carey’s chickens. So ends a glorious holiday with happy memories of all the lure that Queenstown holds.—Contributed.
