TERRITORIAL ASSOCIATION
A meeting of the Queenstown Territorial Association was held in the County Chambers on Monday 21st in.st, His Worship the Mayor (Dir. W. A. Anderson) presided, and Major P. Mackenzie, Capt. Herbert, Messrs F. Bank in, 0. M. Inglls, G. Jones. J. P .Fix. W. Me [lines, W. Stewart and the secretay, H. D. London, ware also present. Among correspondence received was a letter from the Hon. A. Hamilton acccepting .the position of natron of the Association and offering to do .what he could to foster its* aims. It was resolved to write the Hon. A. Hamilton, the Minister of Defence and the Area Officer, Invercargill, regarding very necessary improvements to the Garrison Hall.
Reports were received from subcommittees regarding miniature rifle shooting which it was* hoped to commence at an early date. It was decided to limit the membership to the Territorials and members* of the Territorial Association. Signalling, instruction in the rifle and Lewis* gun and ambulance work were also reported on and discussed, and arrangements will be made to have courses, given.
