Messrs William and Jamee Hannah are at present on a visit to their father* Mr W. Hannah, Anwtown. Prior to her departure from Crown Terrace to reside in Arrowtown, Mrs J. Dennison, sour., was entertained i by the residents at a farewell social. The function was held in the schoolhouso, and was largely attended. The evening was devoted to dancing, and at a suitable interval the presentation of an afternoon tea set was made to Mrs Dennison. In making the presentation, on behalf of the residents of Crown Terrace, Mr James Stevenson referred to the fine neighbourly qualities shown by Mrs Dennison during her long residence on the Terrace, and said that in times of sickness or trouble she had always been to the fore. He wished her ©very happiness in the future. The music for the dance was supplied by Mr James Stevenson, and the duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr John Stevenson. During the evening a song was contributed by Mr William Smith. A bountiful supper was provided by the ladies of Crown Terrace, and a most enjoyable evening terminated with the singing of “Auld lang syne.”
