MAGISTRATES COURT.
THUSDAT, MAT 88th, 1906.

The inspector of nuisances brought charges against several persons for breaches of the borough by-laws in allowing horses, cows or fowls to wander. In each case the defendants vera convicted and fines of 5s were inflicted with costs.
Truant Inspector (J. Cosgrove) sued Mrs E. Downey for having failed to tend one of her children to school for the requisite period. The mother wrote stating that the boy was 14 years of age. His Worship stated that there was no proof of age and fined defendant 6s and ordered her to pay costs amounting to 7s. Another charge was preferred against Mrs Downey on account of the absence of another child from school In this esse she was also convicted and fined ss, with costs 7s. The truant inspector sued B. Anderson on four charges of failing to send children to school. Fined 5s in each case with costs 7s.
L. J. Lynch v. A. J. Pope—Claim for £44 8s 4d, goods supplied. Judgment for amount with costs Another firm sued the same defendant for £l6 2iBJ, value of goods ■applied, judgment bring given for the amount with costs.
