CORRESPONDENCE.
w TO THX EDITOR, L.W.M. Sir,—ln looking over the two last meetings of the County Council one cannot help but pass some remarks about the engineer's report, if tbe paper report is correct. The engineer must surely forget himself. Take the County Council meeting held in April. When the engineer was giving his report he stated at the meetin? that the contracts at Glenorchy Cemetery road and Scott's Lane had been completed. That report was adopted. Now take his May report, four weeks later, you will find in it that the formation at Scott's Lane required a few more loads of gravel to complete it and the Cemetery road at Glenorchy was not yet completed. I would like to know which of the reports is the correct one. There is one thing I can say, the report in April is not correct as I saw the contractors at work for several days after the Council meeting held in April. I think an engineer's report should be a genuine report put before the Council before it is adopted. Tbe public would like to know if the engineer goes and sees those contracts or take other people's reports on their.—l am, etc., Enquirer.
