WAKATIPU DISTRICT HOSPITAL.
The monthly meeting of trustees of above institution was held at Eichardt's Hotel on Saturday last. Present: Messrs J. Black, F. M'Bride and E. C. W. Porter. In the absence of the chairman, Mr J. Black was voted to the chair. Minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed^ Correspondence, outward and inward, was approved or received. Apologies for non-attendance were rendered by Messrs F. St Omer, R. H. Turton and W. Searle, and were all accepted. Findlay Stewart, Frankton, wrote offering to supply Kaitangata coal for 35s per ton delivered.—To be notified that the tender was too late. Messrs Kempthorne, Prosser and Co. Dunedin, wrote making explanation regarding some glycerine and a funnel supplied to the hospital. Letter referred to wardsman. Wesley Turton and Son wrote stating that they had issued distress warrants for money owing and the latter was coming in gradually. Writers intended suing a number of people at an early court if their indebtedness were not cleared oft— Received. Wesley Turton and Son submitted a demand made on Mr Jas. O'Kane for £lB 13s, owing by the late P. M'Bride to the institution, but it was decided to defer the matter to next meeting on account of the sparse attendance. Accounts amounting to £57 Os 7d were brought up and passed for payment and an account of £3 7s 6d from Donne's Butchery was passed subject to its being found correct. The visiting committee reported that everything was satisfactory at the hospital during the month. Mr J. Black told the meeting that this would be his last appearance at the meetings of the Board. He would, however, give a written notice by next meeting of his withdrawal.
