The above sports, which were postponed on account of wet weather, were held, last Tuesday when the committee were more fortunate in respect of weather, the day being perfect The entries were good and the meeting was a very successful one throughout A very close contest was witnessed in the tug-of-war, but Hamilton's team eventually carried off the prize. Mr J. M'Leely, the secretary, carried out his duties in an obliging and praiseworthy manner, and the stewards were particularly active in the arrangement of their sports. Tug-o'-war, 5 men a-side, open to all comers prize, 80s, (three teams of 5 men er no event) —Hamilton's team won after a long and hard straggle by its superior weight. Too teams.
