It was one of those windows not built for opening purposes. and didn't open. Tie tried another window, with the same result. The third window stuck equally tight. and lie raised his foot ami kicked a 1 mrire hole through the plate glass. The. conductor heard the crash, and came running into tin- ear. " Who broke that window V" hi' demanded. " I did." said the man. " Well. sir. I'm afraid it will cosit you s r," " Here it is." said the other, handing him a $lO bill. " T— T haven't change for that." said the ennduetor. "Never mind the change." said the Chicago man. " Keep it." lie raised his foot again, kieked out another window, took a newspaper out of his pocket. -'. it down, and went 011 reading as if m-thing had ha.ppciied.— " Chicago Tribune."
