When executing some slight repairs the other day upon the bridge across the Tokomairiro river, upon the road from Fairfax to Kiversdale, a heart of totara plank had to be removed. Upou b«ing broken up, it was found to be as sound s& when placed there nine years ago. The Bruce Herald thinks, were other bridges erected of this or a similar quality of timber, the country would be saved the expense of having them replaced every tit a or six years.
