DEPUTATIONS.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,' —At a recent meeting of the Waimairi County Council, Mr 0. W. Hervey is reported to havo said that deputations were a waste of the council's time. I take Btrong objection to such remarks. Deputations are not a waste of time. I havo usually foMnd that a deputation will get matters attended to better than if the council was merely written to regarding them. If the council considers deputations are a waste of time they need not admit them. —I am, eto. -ONE OF A DEPUTATION.
