CHINAMAN BADLY KNOCKED ABOUT. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, December 30. Kwong Young Lee, an elderly Chinese wlio keeps a. greengrocery in Newtown, was discovered on Monday night, in a room behind his shop, unconscious, with his head badly battered. The till was found open, only a few cop pci's remaining in it. Lee partially recovered consciousness, but was unable to give a coherent account of the happenings. He fancied that he must havo been attacked from behind. As far ns ho remembered, the till contained about £4. It was reported to-night that the man’s condition was greatly improved, and his recovery was likely. It is believed that ho was struck with a hammer. '
